PCIC works with the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and communicates with its counterparts in other states, allowing our members to have multiple facilities to effectively coordinate their state government relations efforts. PCIC also works in coalition with other trade associations in Harrisburg, including the Pennsylvania Manufacturers Association and Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry.
American Chemistry Council
The American Chemistry Council’s (ACC’s) mission is to deliver business value through exceptional advocacy using best-in-class member performance, political engagement, communications and scientific research. We are committed to sustainable development by fostering progress in our economy, environment and society.
ACC is America’s oldest trade association of its kind, representing companies engaged in the business of chemistry — an innovative, $770 billion enterprise that is helping solve the biggest challenges facing our nation and the world.
The Business of Chemistry:
- Drives innovations that enable a more sustainable future.
- Creates nearly 800,000 manufacturing and high-tech jobs — plus more than 6 million related jobs — that support families and communities.
- Enhances safety through the products of chemistry and investment in research.
The products of chemistry will make it possible to satisfy a growing world population by providing a healthy and plentiful food supply, clean air and water, safe living conditions, efficient and affordable energy sources and lifesaving medical treatments in communities around the globe.
To enable these ongoing innovations, ACC supports public policies that will drive creation of groundbreaking products that improve lives and our environment, enhance the economic vitality of communities and protect public health.
Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association
The Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association (PMA) is the leading voice for manufacturing in the commonwealth. PMA has led the fights for workers’ compensation reform, preserving the manufacturing exemption to the capital stock and franchise tax, and protecting “at-will” employment.
PMA is committed to helping companies meet the growing challenges of a global economy, seek a more highly skilled workforce and address regulatory tax burdens.
Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry
The PA Chamber works to improve Pennsylvania’s business climate and increase the competitive advantage of its members. It is the largest broad-based business association in the commonwealth, serving thousands of member businesses statewide. Member companies cross all industry sectors and include businesses of all sizes.
The Pennsylvania Chamber is committed to restoring “the commonwealth’s glory, creating strong, vibrant communities and a Pennsylvania of which all who live and work in the state can be proud.”
